Winemaking
Betty is a distinctive blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Chenin Blanc grown on the Bridge Pa Triangle in Hawke's Bay. The Merlot and Cabernet Franc were hand picked and whole bunch pressed producing fresh delicate juices that were fermented as white wine in stainless steel before being blended with Chenin Blanc.
Betty - White Blend
40% Chenin Blanc, 30% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc.
A wine as unique and unforgettable as Aunt Betty.
The Story behind Betty
Named for my Aunt Betty, born in 1919, and now enjoying her 108th year. A tribute to a remarkable woman who has always embraced change, adapted to whatever life has brought her, and continued to look forward with curiosity and spirit.
The inspiration for Betty came from a trip to northern Italy, where I discovered a Blanc de Noir made from Nebbiolo. I was intrigued by the idea of taking a red grape and creating something entirely unexpected. I brought the idea home to Hawke's Bay and 2026 Betty joined my wine family.
Inspired by an extraordinary woman who has never been afraid to embrace what comes next.
